@Günther
And have you found some foxholes? I ask an old man in my rudimantry french, and all I understand was, that after 70 years, you can´t see any foxhole. So, I wonder about the clips in youtube, where you can see old foxholes. Are they fakes?

Foxholes and gun emplacements were all filled with debris/earth/sand after the war, or were completely covered with new layers of soil. But many were just filled up. Those you can still recognize, if you know what to look for. They will show up as spots with less vegetation and/or shallow depressions in the ground (hardest to spot). But you CAN find them, for sure, if you know how to.

Friends of mine are metal detector hobbyists (they are Army EOD guys) and they find places a normal person (like me) would not be able to spot even when they were standing on top of it😉 but then of course they have a LOT of experience and know exactly what they need to look for.

I have never visited that place, by the way. It's interesting for sure! I will add it to my list for when I go do my European museum tour again 🙂

Metal detecting is one of my life plans.

@John
I guess, in Belgium and surrounding countries, you have a lot of museums. If I look here, there is none, which is for 2nd World War.
