Hi Dirk,
actually I built this tank based on a colour scheme of Concord no. 7036 The Sherman at War. It is said, that it should be a tank of the 19th tank battalion of the 9th armed division in Belgium in November 1944. The 602nd camouflage engineer battalion started applying the camouflage. Usually black over the olive-drab, but when a third colour was available, it was used like in this case. The netting is called Sommerfield matting and was intended to ma eit easier for the crew to e.g. attach branches to the tank.

Thanks Jose! For the frame I used evergreen round profiles and the mesh is a Verlinden product.

Thanks Jose! For the frame I used evergreen round profiles and the mesh is a Verlinden product. It was a pretty simple and easy to do modification, but with great effect.

The netting or (chicken wire) what did you use?
11 January 2013, 18:14
Frank Krause
Hi Leslie, I used Verlinden mesh wire. I don't know, if it is still available, because the package still shows the Belgium address long before Verlinden moved to the U.S.

@Mike: When I built this one, Friuls weren't even known to me. This kit will not be changed anymore. There are some more Shermans to go surely looking good with Friuls...
@Leslie: Thanks! Whenever we can help.... By the way - I added the "chicken wire" to the project: Mesh Wire (Verlinden Productions 48, 1:35)
