Hello,
This is my CASA 1.131 Jungmann, based on the ICM Bücker Jungmann kit (1/32).
This kit is basic. The fittings are correct, but a lot of details are missing, (and had to be added) which is quiet disappointing for a 1/32 kit (I’ was expecting something more detailed from ICM).
For some personal reasons, I’ wanted to build the CASA version of the Bucker, and more specifically, the 781-13 aircraft (SN# E3B-532). For this, the engine cowlings needs to be deeply modified, since the CASA version was using the ENMA Tigre Engine (and not the Hirth). I’ve been waiting for ICM to propose this version of the Bucker, but unfortunately, it never came.
So, I’ made some of the modifications on my own (oil cooler, hinges, etc..), but for the front cowl, I’ bought the FC-Model-Trend 3D printed add-on. Well…. This was the only way to change this part and it was my first 3D printed part usage. My first impression is that the surface of the part is still stratified, and needs to be filled with some primer/surfacer, and sanded afterwards. This parts are clearly not ready to use. Be careful when manipulating it, it’s very fragile. Eventually, there is quiet a difference between the picture shown on the website (a view from the CAD file, in fact) and the reality of the parts.
I’ also bought the decals sheet from FC-Model-Trend, for the Spanish deco. This decals sheet is quiet expensive (14.5 euros) but you can’t use the black cross for the tail (it seems that this stencils is a 1/48 scale !)
I’ conclude that the aftermarket manufacturer don’t use the parts or the stencils that they designed and sell….
I’also wanted to test the Quinta Studio 3D Stencils for the cockpit. Obviously, the panel is really nice (even if the background color, is incorrect for the CASA, but this is my fault…) and it gives a real plus to the cockpit look.
On the other hand, the Quinta Studio sheet includes the seatbelts but I’ found them much less convincing that the metallic counterparts (Steel from Eduard, for example). They are also very difficult to fit and glue on the seats.
Anyway, I’ eventually manage to finish this kit with the deco that I’ wanted. Surely not the most satisfying kit of the year, but it makes an original deco on the display.
