Fantastic job, Selman, as always. I admire your perseverance. I think the final outcome is worth the trouble, nevertheless...

Album info

I have very different impressions and thoughts about Kinetic brand kits. Some older kits were incredibly crude. For example, the A-6E and F-84F kits were so crude that I left them unfinished and later gave them away as gifts to others. More modern kits are suitable for today's conditions and are extremely enjoyable to build. This kit can actually be considered for the second grade, but it wouldn't be right for me to leave it without mentioning some of the problems I experienced. First of all, the kit is quite complex, Hasegawa's E/F/G kits look like toys compared to this. It has been divided into too many parts, its necessity is questionable and it is a matter of taste. A master modeler can easily overcome this, but after a lot of swearing, of course. For example, the canopy is too big for the model. I had to shave 0.1-0.2mm off the rear canopy part from both the front and back. After the sanding to remove the mold joint trace and the subsequent Future&Pledge process, it is impossible to put the canopy in place without sanding. Anyway, the front part doesn't fit ideally. Therefore, it was necessary to fill the gaps with Clearfix. The parts in front of the flaps and ailerons, the names of which I cannot find, are also resisting not to fall into place. The guide is also quite complex and contains many deficiencies. Let's come to the decal part. This pattern requires a really difficult process. Decals consist of many small parts. I had a hard time fitting it onto the parts I mentioned above and I couldn't prevent it from getting partially silvered. The side fuselage decals are not 100% compatible with the fuselage, I had to cut them in some places and support them with paint in others. I wish I had hand-painted that entire area, because there are suitable decals in the box. The same goes for the fake canopy decals under the front fuselage, they are also not the right size. But despite all the difficulties (for example, I had to disassemble and clean the front canopy), it turned out to be a model that I liked very much and was proud of myself for being able to finish it without getting angry or breaking it.
