Richard Petty 1969 Ford Torino Talladega

It wasn't maybe two years ago, I found out Richard Petty
had a stint with Ford, 2, maybe three years and then
back to Mopar.
I had by a very rare chance to work track security at
Pocono, for one of the two races that year. The second
day, I was placed one check point before the track supervisor
at the entrance to the infield. The last year he raced.
The Good King Richard, never stopped smiling the whole
while we all talked to him. Shook my hand when I told him
Swerving Ernie Irving was my dog in the race that day.
Said he'd known Ernie for years and he was a great guy.
Richard Petty, is a true gentleman.

Yeah, I was poking around on bing, when the
Ford pictures popped up and almost fell outta
the chair. Seems to be a couple schemes, depending on the
year IIRC and the 7-UP sponsor was pretty trick I thought. Still kinda' geeking about it.
Absolutely clueless as to where you could get the decals.

Hehehe - that's the beauty of it! I found a decal sheet on EvilBay for a halfway decent price!! Hardest part will be the research & digging it out of my stash! ROFL!! ;-D

I realize now that the 1969 Torino Cobra would be a much better starting point. Luckily, I happen to have one in the stash!! I don't think this boxing has the pad-printed tires but not a biggie!

Did wind up with a Polar Lights sheet?
I don't know if Slixx ever did a set for the Polar Lights kit.
Then there is this owner, a you tube buddy of mine gets
AM decals done. Pretty reasonable I've heard. You have to talk to him on rates, if you want to fall into the rabbit hole, or have a new acquaintance give you a push. Hehe.
Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this.

Don't know if Slixx did up a sheet. If they did it is not on Scalemates here, at least in for the Petty Fords.

The sheet I am getting off of EBay (I just got the tracking update) is made by Jim Heller Decals & Custom Cars. Never heard of them but I can't say I do too many autos.

Just dug out the 1969 Torino Cobra boxing that I have in my stash and, as I suspected, it has all the parts as the 2016 Round 2 release, just not the nice pad-printed tires or decal sheet. The plastic is molded in a light gray so cool beans!
