How did you do such a clean metal finish? I want to do a similar thing soon-ish for a Dutch Air Force T-33 with only acrylic paints and brushes. I have heard that Vallejo's Air version aluminium paint works a lot better than the regular brush version.

Hi, Freak.
Precisely. I used vallejo model air aluminum. Diluted a little with water and with fluid improver (Liquitech). Applying very thin layers.
I didn't use a black precoat because the paneling lines are very subtle and you never get as fine a finish with a brush as you can with an airbrush. The vallejo metallic paint adheres quite well to plastic without primer. Usual acrylic gloss varnish layer to place the decals, another layer to seal them and finally one of semigloss varnish.

Perhaps, if you previously deepen the panel engravings, you can use the black primer and get an even brighter metallic finish.

Another acrylic metallic paint, that works very well with brush, is Mystic White from Greenstuff World mixed with black wash ink.

Thanks Ameno! I will definitely get that Model Air aluminium then! For panel lines, I have an old Hasegawa kit that I bought together with the rare Dutch decals. It has raised panel lines and is pretty low on detail. Was thinking of getting a riveting tool for it. It does come with pilot figures.

Album info
I have lost the landing lights part into the carpet and never found it 🙁.
As usually, no airbrush here. The metal finish is very tricky withuot it.
