Yes... I am using a coffee mug as a paperweight.
Wired up and the lights work... phew. The cones aren't glued on yet. Need to do all the gap filling and sanding before I do that.
Just about ready to prime and paint
Primer is on, see a few spots I need to clean up, but paint shouldn't be far away.
Huge Gaps
In this episode they were attacked by a giant roll of painter's tape... Land of Giants cross over I think.
Making progress. Stencils are done, the UFP marking on the main habitat will have to be the decal, the stencil didn't work at all.
Hasn't quite worked, but might be able do a little something to make it work.
Cut out some stencils using a font from the all powerful internet and my Cameo 4.
Probably should have used tamiya mask instead. The stencil material is very thick and a bit stiff.
Ok. Not bad. Little hand touch up on a couple letters and it should be good to go.
Woohoo! Pretty much done. Saw some bits on the colored dome tops that need some touch up, and I need to spray the base, but otherwise done.

James BarrettHad this one for years. Decided to take it down of the shelf and build it. Picked up some LEDs, gonna try and light it.

James BarrettI plan on adding some lighting to this one, so I drilled out all the parts where I need to light or wires to pass through. Also started work on masking the clear parts.

James BarrettGetting close. 1 decal for the UFP marking and some light weathering, then its clean up paint on the primary habitat antenna and color on the clear parts that need it. Then I get to remove all those little bits of masking tape from earlier.

James BarrettAnd of course... the decal disintegrated. It is a pretty old kit, so not a huge surprise. So, looks like I will try a stencil after all.

James BarrettGot it weathered, got the clear colors on and in place. Now I just need to remove a million little squares of masking tape and paint the base. Woohoo!
