Sd.Kfz.138/1 Geschützwagen modeling
I added some missing details: lever, pedals, spar on the floor, wiring installation tube
I joined the parts into separate blocks to make painting more convenient.
I crumpled and carved fenders. In wartime photos, most vehicles on pz.38 chassis have this defect
I added some missing bolts, sanding the left wall of the engine compartment to the real thickness from 1,2 mm to 0,6 mm because I want to leave the left engine hatch open to see the engine.
I also made cable plugs and handles and making holes in radio rack dampers for radio hardware (sorry, the transmitter and receiver are upside down, just noticed, but not glued yet).
I carved the muffler.
Although the Dragon model is good, it lacks a lot of detail. I made from scratch a commander's headset connection box with a tube for the cable, and another bigger box (I don't know what it is)
MP40 ammunition pouches. One is already carved, the second is waiting inline
I made several pipes on the floor and connected to the gearbox.
I made from scratch the floor of the fighting compartment (for some reason, Dragon did not provide that). Then I combined the cannon base, floor, and gearbox shaft into one block
The cannon base, floor, and gearbox shaft block
Floor detail. I use spare ammo boxes too, for a more detailed view.
I add some tubes and wires to the engine (not all yet!).
To make it easier to work, I connected the fuel tanks with two beams on which I put the engine.
I made a new first aid kit from scratch. Original on the right.
I made a few missing details from scratch: the first aid kit mounting bracket, dashboard, and cable.
The original seats are too flat for me. New ones made thick and soft, in the Baroque style 🙂. I made one torn and tied with wire.
