Album image #1
the AMT is the gray plastic in fromt

Album image #2
it even came w/plug wires and a proper firing order diagram!

Album image #3
I decided to go for the 2 tone on this one because it had better definition on the panels than the Revell kit. took a bit of time but turned out good.

Album image #4
body is basically painted. pic color is close, but ,,,,,

Album image #5

Album image #19
trouble with this kit is the trunk & hood are not openable, you have to pose them open w/the hinges on, they dont swing up like most kits

these next 2 pics are closer to the true color, but too green,,,

Well, since I finished the AC-130 I HAVE been working on the 57 Chevys,,,, in between fixing 2 computers for a friend! They are both basically painted, just need to get them polished up and assembled. Another week or so.
And, what do I suppose is next in line? ?????????

Ok so the 2) 57 Chevys are done, well except for the hood on the Coral one needs another sanding & clear coat.
I'm still liking the AMT kit better. The glass has a molded lip w/alignment pins & was easy to install, the Revell had nothing to hold the glass. The chassis to the body was much more positive to align, slots in the rear & pins in front, it fit perfect. The Revell was a pain! The little pieces, door handles, mirror were also easier w/alignment pins.
Overall, it has a nicer looking engine w/spark plug wires & heater hoses, better wheel assemblies, & better detail all around. A NICE KIT !!
On with the next bunch ! Johan 62 Olds F-85 Cutlass, Tamiya M41 Walker Bulldog & ESCI AC-47 Spooky.

Robert, it is obvious you have spent many an hour under the hood of a few cars before this, as the attention to the detail in the engine compartment reflects this. 👍
Real eye candy mate, and a most impressive outcome. 🙂
It took me almost two hours to work my way through all the posted images, just enjoying every aspect of your work. 🙂
I love it. ;-O

Thanks a lot guys. It took me 50 years, but I can finally make a model car look pretty good!
The Aqua one is like the one my grandma had when I was very young, the Coral one I had, but was a 4 door.
James,
I remember doing the same when I was a kid, only I tried it w/a brush first,,, YUCK!! The results were horrible! I tried spray cans a few times, but always got runs. After a few I gave up painting them and just built them plain!
Doing the trim takes SOooo much time to mask, but I'm no good freehand. The first few I did w/a black ink marker and weren't too bad, but I just cant find a good silver marker that works the same, they're all enamel, and if I screw up it's a mess, so I started masking & spraying the trim. Turns out good, but it's very time consuming.
Kerry,
Actually I did work on cars a lot, starting at about age 12, and pretty much most of my life until a few years ago. They said I wouldn't drive, but I had to prove them wrong! I had to learn to do my own repairs, couldn't afford to pay for it, so I got to know my way around under the hood of these OLD cars. And I had a LOT of them! They were just used, junk cars then. Wish I had them now!
And, like I said this AMT kit has much better under hood details.
I appreciate the compliments Gents !!
