Got this one started recently. Another very small production resin and white metal kit. Driven at the 1957 Indy 500 by Freddie Agabashian, and actually designed to race on dirt as well, although it turned out to not be good at that part. All parts cleaned, then the simple white and black paint are applied and clear coated. And then decals. Finished this morning. Now we just put another coat of clear on it and continue with the assembly.

Thanks Bozzer!! The history is always one of the most enjoyable things about these builds for me. The history is short for this car and a bit dark, as it ran the 500 in 1958 as well but was split in half later in the season during a crash at Trenton New Jersey. Flew through the track guardrail and landed on a hurricane fence. Driver Jimmy Reece was ejected and later died during transport. Not to dampen the mood or anything.

Been to Trenton, NJ. I'll have to dig out some more information on this? I might take a trip over, when I'm next in the states? It's literally just over the Delaware, from New Hope, which is about an hour from my stateside pad. I also frequent Rice's Flea Market, where I usually find a bargain? Last time I was there, I picked up a cheap airbrush and compressor, used once, for $25! It was used for cake decorating, and the lady couldn't use it? Lol, gotta love a bargain 😉

They lost their Indycar race in 1980 and the track was demolished shortly after. Today there is a Walmart there, the Grounds for Sculpture and a housing development. The neighborhood has a lake that sort of sits in the infield of what the track would have been. It was an odd kidney bean shaped oval. Very unique. And that's a great deal!! Have to love those flea market finds. Image of where the track was attached

Crazy to think, that I've passed close by there, several times, and I never knew anything about it? I might just have to swing by and grab a few pictures for you 😉

Playing around with Alclad on a few parts for this build. Also finished all the suspension front and rear. Needs cockpit work, Pittman arm and drag link

Got this one all finished up and over the finish line. Another simple build that looks great on the shelf. These 50s Kurtis's were great looking machines.
