It was released in September to my knowledge. A few for sale on ebay but postage is £14.90 on top of the model price. Spoke to Jumbles models this morning and they are taking pre orders with deposit for a second delivery of this model in December. Hope this helps you out.

Hi Andrew Swift & David Taylor. I bought the Gecko Ambulance kit when it was released a couple of months ago. Paid about £36 for it from Jadlam with a £5 off coupon.

Jadlam models are taking pre-orders for December 2022 but I do not know if the figure of Princess Elizabeth is included in the second batch model after speaking to Jumblies Models today as they did not k ow themselves. Taking pre-orders as they are out of stock and due a delivery at the end of December 2022.

FOG are also out of stock and are taking pre-orders for stock delivery in December 2022.

Wonderland Models are out of stock but have the Airfix version in stock.

@ David Taylor, No conundrum at all I do not want the Airfix model.

GECKO 35GM0070 1/35 Scale, no hesitation. Like the detail in Gecko models as well as the plans being in full colour and detailed description within the plans, even though the plans are in gloss finish.

Famous K2/Ys - Katy And The Princess (Limited Edition Special Boxing) 1/35 Scale GECKO Model 35GM0070

On the front of the box it has a picture of the Austin WWll K2/Ys Ambulance with a figure of Princess Elizabeth in uniform.

Model was released for Queen Elizabeth ll Platinum Jubilee 2022, but released in 2021.

@Andrew Swift. Hi buddy. I don't think the one with the picture of the princess on the front of the box, was ever released by Gecko. Probably due to a licensing issue with the Princess on the front of the box. The kit I bought was 35GM0070. It had no picture of the princess on the front of the box. But the figure was included in the kit. With a picture of the figure on the side of the box. Next to the pictures of the decals and PE parts. I would assume that a 2nd production run of the kit would still contain the figure. Good luck in getting one.

When I spoke to Jumblies model the owner informed me that he didn't know if the second batch of the Gecko model 35GM0070 would have the figure of the Princess included unlike the first batch released by Gecko.

If you type in your browser 'gecko models austin k2' a selection of the model comes up including the packaging displaying the Princess.

I don't know how to insert a picture on here but if you do the above in your browser a selection of the K2 comes up. Nothing is mentioned in the description if a figure is included. The one I found with the postage £14.90, found out the seller is in China. The ones I've seen on ebay are all in China from sellers. I new the picture of the Princess was on the side of the box. I watched a tube presentation of a guy who had ordered his model of the K2 from Jumblies Models and went through the model in detail from opening the parcel to going through the model in detail.

@Andrew Swift. Hi buddy. I think you are wrong. Almost 100% sure that the kit with the picture of the princess on the box was never released. At least not in the UK. The one without the princess on the box art was released in Sept 22. The same time as the Airfix version. It may have been released in China. Gecko are releasing an early war ambulance soon. kit number 35GM0068. As well as a late war one. kit number 35GM0069. Its also interesting that the one with the picture of the princess on the box art, has disappeared from scalemates. Look at this link from a well known overseas seller. aliexpress.com/item/..ewayAdapt=4itemAdapt. First pic shows princess on box art. But 2nd pic is the same kit I bought. No princess on box art.

I've seen it myself in that packaging, model 35GM0070 a fee months ago when I should have ordered it.

@Andrew Swift. Sorry mate, but you are wrong. It was not released in Feb 2021. You will notice that I asked the question right at the top of this thread in Oct 2021. When will the kit be released. When I asked that question back in Oct 2021. The box art that was displayed at the top of this thread had the princess on the front of the box. Even the link you showed, said that page was updated in June 2021. At that time it said they were still waiting for release. The kit number of 35GM0070 has stayed the same. But by the time it was released in Sept 2022. The box art had changed to remove the image of the princess. Maybe they ended up being unable to get a license to have the image of the princess on the box top. i would say go ask Gecko Models directly. But their web site is miles out of date. maybe their Facebook page is better. Now the version with the princess on the box art has disappeared from scalemates.
As for Ali Express. I don't know. I have never ordered from them. I tend to stay away from ordering from non UK suppliers. Only time I have ordered stuff from abroad was from Eduard directly and Superhobby based in Poland.

I have read somewhere that the release date for 35GM0070 was February 2021. If on the Gecko site or another modelling site, but cannot remember where? If Gecko site or another modelling site where i read it and stating February 2021 for release date. I know the model number 35GM0070 for both packaging with and without the Princess on the outer packaging.

Unless that was the origional release date and had to be pushed back due to altering the packaging and the removal of the Princess from the front packaging of the model.

I have never used Ali Express. Just curious if anyone in the UK has ordered from them and what there service is like?

I also tend to use UK based model shops, but I do use the 'WISH APP' quite alot. Personally I have not had a problem with ordering and receiving goods that I have ordered and they all come from China region.
