Found this thread (britmodeller.com/for..-as-supplied-colour/) where the poster Kingsman visited the tank in the picture which is apparently at Bovington now. I was originally going to buy the Gunze olive drab since I thought I needed it but the color of the paint underneath is actually closer to the Tamiya OD.

Great project idea JC. funnily enough I just got those Master barrels too. Haven't yet plucked up the courage to invest in the OKB tracks though...

I took one look at the tracks in Hasegawa kit (here's a pic I found online for reference: flic.kr/p/2ifSgii) and knew I was going to need some aftermarket bits. Luckily I wanted to order the Canadian Dry Pin tracks for the Sherman from OKB as well so the shipping didn't hurt as badly. Haven't worked with resin tracks before but there's going to be more of that in my future so I just decided to bit the bullet here.

Thanks to everyone who has liked and commented. I'm actually going to be away from my modelling tools for the next few months but I'll be back to modelling and posting on scalemates afterwards. 😀

Finally back to working on models again. Putting this one on hold for a bit because the front gear that comes with the kit is terribly misaligned. Going to move onto a different project I had the models for already for now. I'm planning on doing a M4 Sherman at some point in 1/72 so I'll be able to substitute the front wheels from that onto this since the Sherman and Grant share some parts. The Sherman is going to be the Canadian version so I'll have a different set of tracks and gears for that.
