Item 35116 1940 Ford DAF 1.0 ton Type 01Y PAG-Trekker DAK version
DAF is a Dutch truck manufacturer with humble beginnings that can be traced back to the late 1920s. Founded by Hubert "Hub" van Doorne and A.H. Huenges, it was first known as Commanditaire Vennootschap Hub van Doorne's Machinefabriek. By 1932, the company changed its name to Van Doorne's Aanhangwagen Fabriek (Van Doorne's Trailer Factory), conveniently abbreviated as DAF.

Prior to World War II, DAF supplied the Dutch Army with light artillery tractors / anti-tank gun tractors. These were called PAG-Trekkers, PAG is Dutch, meaning pantserafweergeschut. The PAG-Trekkers were built on either Ford or Chevrolet 4 x 2 chassis, which were converted with a customized bodywork having 3 rows of seats to accommodate 6 crew members, and ammunition storage at the back.

Dnepromodel Kit# 35116 builds a 1940 Ford DAF 1.0 ton Type 01Y PAG-Trekker that was used by the Afrikakorps. Molded in resin, the kit contains a full set parts to complete the truck, together with parts for the engine and transmissions box.
