I'm glad to see, that it's not just me, who does all this type of prep work. I've spent far too much time and money, on tools, gizmo's and fabrication of various things, just to try and speed up this process. Yet, I still end up falling back to the back of a #11 knife blade!
I'll hang around for this one mate, mainly to see the outcome of those amazing decals. But also to watch how the trailer goes together?
I helped my son build the Spacecab, way back in the early 2000's. He didn't enjoy it and abandoned his efforts 🙁 No wonder he became a plumber 😛

@ Raphaël: I know exactly what you mean. The KASL hobby tail (A/B version) is slightly narrower and shorter in the front area than the original C version of the kit. Here I had to sand and putty. I have added more photos to the gallery. In picture no. 19 you can see an approximately 3mm flat, structureless area around the root of the tail, that's where I worked. Do you have the KASL hobby Tail made for the Tamiya kit? There are another versions for Hasegawa and Kinetic! But I don't know about the differences.

Subs have weld lines and they are raised lines, you should see a boat that has gone through overhaul. Lots of hull cuts made to remove major equipment from the ship so they can be overhauled as well. At that scale you wouldn't see those lines very well.

Keep up the good works, looks like you still need to address the two extra BST bouys. I am in touch with a Guy that 3D prints Submarine propellers. I'll see if he makes them for the Ohio class. FYI, the D-5 Missile is 44'4" length, 83" diameter, if you want to check the length, I think it is close enough in that scale.

I was thinking if thay made a kit pree chist thay probably wouldn't change much
In the next few thousand of years
The early kits were about 2000
The kit does have rockers showing in the heads
And yes you can see what resembles pistons
But all at the same level of the bore
And the 2 pistons on each end of the block on both sides
Have lining up blocks across them
The latest kit in that family still has those details
In the case of the block D Hadley is uesing
The pistons are at different levels and there is nothing over the pistons
Further more the pistons are machined for the valve clearance

It's sculpting clay onto MDF. It has to be something stiff, because clay shrinks while drying. Formed with one of those dentist little ball tools for fillings.

Eloquently put CaptGPF. Interestingly, the swastika symbol was hijacked by the Nazis. It was used by various religious cultures over thousands of years. I think the symbol has meaning in some Asian religions? Different cultures deriving differing symbolism from the same image.
As for the flag on the back of the Panzer 3. I think its being used as a Luftwaffe marker for a desert campaign? And usually stowed away, next to the tea and biscuits inside the turret. 🙂

I agree with CaptGF, better to see and discuss than to simply try and hide it. No knowledge will come of that, better to be informed than ignorant. I also think the same as Mr James. Now the flag could be a little bit more distressed/older/not so colorful, it looks a bit too perfect compared to the state in which the tank is. I like constrast but it's just a little too much in this case. But it's a awesome build and i'm following for sure.

Meanwhile I start to add the rigg. Halyards and the stays for the funnels are made of streched sprue. For the main mast stays lycra rigging thread is the best choice.
