I use a ceramic honeycomb soldering board (amazon) which has a grid of tiny holes in it. It works great for sticking toothpicks in to pin a piece of Photo Etch into place so you can work on it. Shown here with solder paste applied, before soldering

Weld beads created with Green Stuff Epoxy putty and a home made tool cut from an aluminum can.

This PE bracket gave me a very hard time assembling the working hinge.

Detailing the kit jack by removing the molded on handles and replacing them with wire. The kit's rotary handle was replaced with a scratch-built one.

Morning Brian. Makes a nice change to see a 1/25 tank in progress. That's a heck of a lot of PE though! I was looking for a Sherman, myself, but it appears that one was never made, as a kit, in 1/25? If you search through scalemates though, a guy has done one in paper. Believe me, it blew my mind! Well worth a look, when you get time.
