Porco Rosso
Marco.. Meglio maiale che fascista!
some touch-ups to make Marco flight-ready
drilled out the engine exhausts
engine exhausts ready to fit
testing the engine before final assembly (PWM motor control)
attaching the engine wires to the copper wires that forms the stand and electrical connections
finished assembly of the S.21
with Marco in the cockpit
testing composition of the final scene with engines on ..
Preparing the circuit board for painting..
mocking up the base - a portion of the "secret garden" in Gina's villa
I started with a black primer for the base
masking off the building for painting
working up the colours of the building
the water was many layers of paint and gloss mod podge to build up an effect with some sense of "depth"
testing the base and electronics fit with the "Daiso picture frame base"
I need a small pavilion for the garden...
Making windows for the pavilion..
"Gina" is an HO passenger model, pretty poorly molded but I tried to recover as best as possible
Adding foliage and finishing touches to the garden..
Gina on the balcony..
Final assembly .. it's getting close now!
Oh Marco. Meglio maiale che fascista!
who said you couldn't paint electronic circuits?

This is a nice kit, put one together a while back. Did this one come with two Porco's, one big and one for the cockpit?

Great job on Marco!
@Paul: you are welcome! It's the iconic phrase from the Italian version of the picture 🙂

Thanks everyone for cheering along. I actually cracked the box on this kit last May (2022) but I was procrastinating over how to motorise it since the 1:72 kit doesn't leave much room to manoeuvre. I finally picked it up again this week and it has come together like a dream. I think I'm on the home stretch now..
