And the result after painting.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/5/8/0/1263580-34174-13-720.jpg)
The cockpit is finished. I added a bit of free hand wiring to make it look more interesting from the front.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/5/8/2/1263582-34174-54-720.jpg)

![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/5/8/7/1263587-34174-61-720.jpg)
Added cabling behind the instrument panels are not according to any reference. Just my idea to make it look a bit more interesting. 🙂
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/5/8/8/1263588-34174-69-720.jpg)
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/2/1/9/1278219-34174-66-720.jpg)
Some Eduard PE for the bombs.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/2/1/8/1278218-34174-42-720.jpg)
Bombs finished along with the extra tank that will be placed in the forward compartment of the bomb bay.
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/2/1/7/1278217-34174-97-720.jpg)
I decided I wanted to be able to open lift part of the canopy in order to get a better look inside and be able clean up the interior when the model is finished.
After cutting the canopy in half I had to replace ca 1 mm of the canopy with a plastic sheet that was cut away by razor saw.

![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/2/2/0/1278220-34174-48-720.jpg)
The fit after adding the piece in between the two halves.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/2/2/1/1278221-34174-49-720.jpg)
I added some more detail to the bomb bay together with the Eduard PE.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/2/2/2/1278222-34174-11-720.jpg)
Wings modified for the Eduard PE flaps and some extra detail added.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/2/2/3/1278223-34174-56-720.jpg)
The wheel bays also got some Eduard PE detail.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/2/2/4/1278224-34174-95-720.jpg)
And everything glued together.

![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/2/2/8/1278228-34174-83-720.jpg)
The bomb bay doors got some extra detail from the Eduard PE set.
![Album image #29 Album image #29](/albums/img/2/2/9/1278229-34174-66-720.jpg)
![Album image #30 Album image #30](/albums/img/2/3/0/1278230-34174-66-720.jpg)
Extra tank glued into the bomb bay.
![Album image #31 Album image #31](/albums/img/2/3/1/1278231-34174-40-720.jpg)
The kit provides two nicely detailed engines. No extra PE detail here. I've decided to build the kit with one engine bay opened up to expose the engine.
![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/9/5/6/1704956-34174-84-720.jpg)
Some marbling effect on the under side.
![Album image #33 Album image #33](/albums/img/9/5/8/1704958-34174-32-720.jpg)
The marbling is clearly visible through the RLM65 bottom color.
![Album image #34 Album image #34](/albums/img/9/5/7/1704957-34174-17-720.jpg)
I'm doing the winter camo, but I want the standard camo to be visible through te white winter camo. I.e some masking and painting with RLM70 and RLM71 needed to be done.
![Album image #35 Album image #35](/albums/img/9/5/9/1704959-34174-18-720.jpg)
The winter camo is applied using a bit of marbling before spraying the top layer.
![Album image #36 Album image #36](/albums/img/9/6/0/1704960-34174-87-720.jpg)
The RLM04 wing marking sprayed.
![Album image #37 Album image #37](/albums/img/9/6/1/1704961-34174-78-720.jpg)
All the decals along with the RLM04 identifying band is finished. I waited with the spraying of the yellow band until I knew where the decals would end up, due to some inconsistency with the marking directions in the manual.
![Album image #38 Album image #38](/albums/img/9/6/2/1704962-34174-19-720.jpg)
The bomb bay mounted fuel tank came loose several times during the painting process, so I decided to let it be until I finished painting before gluing it in place again.
![Album image #39 Album image #39](/albums/img/9/6/3/1704963-34174-19-720.jpg)
Basic painting is finished and a matte coat is applied before weathering. I also removed the masking of the windows which is always exciting 🙂.
![Album image #40 Album image #40](/albums/img/9/6/4/1704964-34174-73-720.jpg)
Still alot of work to be done...
![Album image #41 Album image #41](/albums/img/0/0/6/1721006-34174-40-720.jpg)
It is finished! 🙂

The aft part of the canopy is removable (my modification), so that you can have a better look inside.

On its place in the book shelf. It is a bit lonely at the moment, but there will be more 😉 ...

Most of the PE for the cockpit is finished. I will add the rest after base paint is finished.

After a little more work, I have finished the "green house" area. I have also glued the fuselage together and the next area of interest is the bomb bay. 🙂

Another batch of pictures of the recent progress.
Next step is the exterior paint scheme. I will go for a winter camo on this one. 🙂

It's been a while, but the Do-17 is showing some progress again. Major part of painting is over and weathering will start as soon as I've finished the small parts (guns/cowling/flaps etc...). There is still alot to do..

The flying pencil is finished! It took some time and effort but now it is done. There are still quite a few parts left in the PE kit, but I'm happy as it is. 🙂
