Jason GardinerThanks Peter, I actually used Tamiya JN Grey to paint it as I found it impossible to find a decent R.A.N storm grey. I should note also this is my first ship I have ever done as well.

Peter HardyWell, you should be bloody proud of it Jason! I'll have to remember that if I ever build an Aussie Naval vessel. When you see one berthed beside a US ship the different colour is so obvious and looks far better! Might be a bit biased but just my eye.

Jason GardinerApparently the R.A.N is switching to the same colour as the US Navy so will be harder to tell them apart!

Michael HickeyWhat.... Who's crazy idea is that, why don't we just leave it the way it is, is there a problem with our colours, or does our Government feel the need to waist tax payers money, or do we have to copy everything the Yanks do to keep them happy.

I started this kit back in August 2014, finally have it done now!
It came with a Pontos detail and photo etch set and I managed to learn a lot about using photo etch from this kit.
I built it as a Royal Australian Navy vessel, HMAS Darwin or FFG04. The actual ship was decommissioned late 2017 after 33 years service.
I'm hoping to get a custom name plate made for it eventually
