Oh there's way too much attitude for a tomcat! 🙂 SHE thinks she owns the place! Funny thing is she never does this when I'm home. She knows it is verboten. 🙂

Urban Gardini
Well, as any cat knows by heart is that they're the master of the house n' no rules have ever stopped 'em...

Hey Mike.... it`s not that she never does it when you are at home, it`s just you are in the way when your at home.😉

Lol. A limited production kit. Three years in the making. Not sure how accurate the camouflage is though. 🙂
Hey Martyn, she doesn't let my being home stop her. She's constantly trying to claw her way onto my lap as I build.

Nice kitty Mike. I've got a black tomcat who also rules the house and is constantly trying to get on my bench 🙂

I have two of those things... they are always whinning for attention or food when I'm building... But they do produce nice little 1/48 scale whip antennas! (Wiskers)

Cats are a noteworthy companion to model builders. My friend Jim Marrs often said that we are owned and operated by them, not the other way around. Personally if it weren't for their propensity to leap onto our shelves and workbenches and unintentional (?) sabotage with strands of cat fur in our paint schemes and coiling around our feet as we carry fragile objects around I'd say they were perfect. 🙂 Does this 1:1 scale (cat) scratch built model have a kill score of models attributed to it yet?
24 January 2014, 16:27
TheMadModeller
@Steve, times like this I wish they had an emote showing someone madly beating upon a dead horse. 😄 Still the groan factor of all the bad one liners made it funny. lol

No kills yet Edward. But I did catch her sleeping in an open kit box once... with sprues still inside!
We have a place mat under her food bowl thats says "Dogs have masters, cats have staff." Ain't it the truth.

Modellers and cats, in spite of their potential for destruction, (the modellers, not the cats), seem to share an affinity. I believe that it's the shared characteristics of independence and individuality, as opposed to a herd, or pack mentality. Besides, cat whiskers, (shed naturally, of course), make for ideal aerials.

As long as this thread doesn't devolve into a...........FUR BALL 😄

So we're all feline fine and it isn't a cataclysm, although the catalogue of puns could give me cataracts. Time to get back to my...er...kits.

26 January 2014, 16:56

Well Adam it shows that we modelers also take an interest in other life forms.
And not just the the carpet monster and the plastic fairies😉

Let's not forget the Resin Moles (The ones that cause all the air pockets.) and Vac Gremlins (The ones that make it where no matter how precisely we sand the parts to shape the bloody parts just will not line up!)
27 January 2014, 03:34
Bruce Leyland-Jones
And Speck Sprites! Don't forget the Speck Sprites...the little blighters responsible for spoiling your glossy paintwork and, worse still, inserting that un-moveable speck inside your canopy. They are a close relative to the Hair Fairy.
Then there's the Crack Goblin, (behave at the back), whose sole purpose is to open up well sealed and sanded seams.

The dreaded Tweezer Catapult Imp...
Your moving in to place with that tricky tiny item held firmly in your Tweezers...
When suddenly >>>> T--W--A--N--G F--L--I--C--K <<<<...
The Tweezer Imp has released the hold on the tiny item, just short of being placed in position, the item which is now flying in living room air space never to be seen again😠
