hi David , not sure some would consider this scratch building (more like crap building)..as I haven't made detailed drawings with foot notes and appropriate scale reduction calculations ...lol

When I did my Saxon apc.I had to measure then multiply by2.18 to get the correct size. That measurement is etched in my brain..

David ...a few years ago in Fine Scale Modeler ,there was a article with two scale charts .. which I saved and lives on the same peg as my evergreen styrene ..and last year sprue brothers enclosed a scale card with the orders ..

HI , Tini ..its going to be a Kenworth 6X6 ..a field modified "farm truck" with high floatation tires , inspired by a u-tube video of " Charlie's un- finished farm truck" ....and also KrAZ 255b videos

Float tyres (tires) are available aftermarket. Personally, I like the look of them, on certain trucks. Just make sure that they fit your rims, because a lot of stuff is 1/24 and that definitely makes a difference! I think that Jamie, from Molenium (unsure of the spelling) sells both versions, and supporting rims? You did catch my eye with that camelback tandem though. I can only imagine where you got that from?

@ David ..I tried to keep the pinion angles realistic although front drive shaft kinda long
regretting not doing u- joints before fixing in place ..something to work out

Mona, H channel, cut, trimmed and shaped, with a pinned T joint middle. You're welcome 😉

Try ST Supply for aftermarket too. Moluminum tends to not have things in stock. Paul @ ST constantly has a rotating supply as well as a diverse selection. Takes a minute for the stuff to show but, I'm New York and he's Canadian so, expected.🤷♂️

And definitely don't leave home without your pants! It's fine until you run into a friendly German Shepherd. Then, all hell breaks lose!

Lmao! And that's the other reason why I love Scalemates! We can all be adults, and even kids, but the banter is strong, and definitely light-hearted and welcome, at times! It's not all plastic and politics. We just have a good time, with a few smiles thrown in, for good measure 😄

Jonathon, I checked out the site for ST Supply (Paul's Truck parts) ..looking forward to placing a order. 😉

Totally understand. During the winter (slow time) my purchases are light but, the rest of the time, I order at least monthly. He has product that is hard to find and I believe he may even cast some stuff himself. I say this because things will come back up that aren't around before or elsewhere. I check on him weekly.

I was hoping he had a few items, more of the tires I want ..but supply an demand .. i shall order what is possible an then check back ...no hurry

Lol, Mona is becoming a truck junkie.
Seriously though, with the amount of amazing aftermarket parts, it's extremely hard to control your urges! If I can't find what I want, I try to print it myself. The problem is, I start to look for something, then see something else, buy that, then something else I see, before I know it, I've got a drawer full of stuff, and I still don't have what I needed in the first place?
Self confessed truck junkie, myself.

![](/profiles/img/99769-744-s.jpg)
I've enough kits (various) to build ..that I can't possibly finish really no reason to buy more but yup ...junkie and your right about them aftermarket detail items ... they do seem to be the difference to a nice build of a marginal older kit, that and a element of practice ..I haven't the desire to 3d print ..and if I did I would print dash air ducts ..for the 68 beetle in the garage

Just wait until you see the CTM stuff! I gotta admit, I keep tissues handy, when I browse through their website! To catch all my drool! Some of those dashboards, look better than on the 1:1 version. PE isn't my strongest point, but I intend on treating myself to a PE bender, and getting my big boy pants on.
17 February, 21:29
![](/profiles/img/124378-345-s.jpg)
True to the CTM comment Bozzer. I have always been a PE fan, where applicable. Eduard likes to make grab handles that are 2 dimensional so I end up replacing those with brass or styrene. Their dash boards were fantastic but have been out shined by 3d decals. CTM has been bought for as many kits that I have and they make interior sets for. I tell ya, I could spend tons of money on just their PE. Like, exhaust clamps?! Really?! 🥹 thanks for the details but, am I gonna end up in the loony bin? (Say nothing😏 Just move along. Nothing to see here)

Wow ! 👍 that a great Idea ...its been a while since I've drank a beer or any alcohol , I'd have to go with a Labatt's .....but Mezcal (ice cold) would really be my choice

Oh, how I miss the hoppy, delightful complexity of brew. Had no choice but to give it up.😭 Dr's orders. I will live vicariously through all of you. Crack one for me.

You got it Big J! Holy moly, we got us a designated driver for the Disco Bus!
All we need now is a chef for the BBQ?

Me?! Drive?! I can only drive the short bus to the psych ward 🤪. At lest that's what my dear departed wife use to say. And I could do it professionally. I quote " You are certifiable and will drive everyone crazy". That, and my Mom says I'm a keeper…Woo Hoo!🎉🧨🎆🎇

Don't worry guys, you're in good company. Us British drink beer for breakfast, and our cousins over the water, love a good beer! After all that ale, we won't care who's driving, or where we're going? Won't be the first time, I've woke up in a strange place? It's finding my clothes after, where I always struggle 😉

Hi 🙂 Ahmet .. thank you, yes I made the frame, transfer case & driveshaft and modified the front springs . I over did it on the front springs ..and the front driveline should be different, But overall its reasonable ..may not be "accurate" though

Hi, Bozzer ...sure I will take a few ..one Detroit 8v72 coming up, if i did better planning I'd would have ordered a 12v ..or a big CAT engine ..maybe in another build

![](/profiles/img/124378-345-s.jpg)
Mona: accuracy is in the eye of the……fooie, 👅 did ya have fun? That……… that's what matters. If anyone says anything, tell them that you have it from a PNWW (Professional Nitwit With a Wrench🤪) that trucks can be special ordered to the specifications of the buyer. You are the customer in this case. If you're gonna weather it, working trucks are "Consumer Adjusted" constantly. Hell, before we let them go (sold or dead) we have many "adjustments" on each and every one. We are hard on trucks.🤷♂️
26 February, 21:23
![](/profiles/img/48725-851-s.jpg)
Thanks Mona. I've gotta agree with Jonathon. Everything was/is ordered to customer spec. You can literally build your own truck! The dealer gave you options, and helped you get the truck you wanted, for your needs? Engine, transmission, axles, diff's, trim, sleeper, you name it? I've seen many a Mack, with a Cummins in it, and even a few Detroit's. Nothing is impossible, when it comes to haulin gass 😉

![](/profiles/img/99769-744-s.jpg)
I noticed that from the Kenworth site and the various "history of" videos on the u-tube .. so I figured I had room for creative liberty 🙂

Oh God! People agreeing with me is scary. Have I apologized yet? Remind me to🤪

Credit where it's due mate.
And encouragement is always welcome here. Personally, I love some of the links that get shared, of wild and wonderful trucks and cars? Gets the old grey cells ticking, and before you know it, another build is underway!

Bozzer is at the Bench! Awesome! Been very busy myself. Not with my "Down and dirty" build but, felt the need to do a fast out of the box build and the March Madness Group Build is pushing me to accomplish something without getting bogged down by minutiae 🫨 Just need to feel an accomplished model under my belt 😏

a bit more to fab ...much of which under the rotating platform a drive shaft from the hydraulic pump to the PTO and a reservoir tank. yes a epic build at the moment (lol) 🙂 I keep practicing maybe someday I shall build something worthy of entering in a local event ...I been thinking of joining the IMPS 👍 😉

thank you guys 🙂 ....can't believe I typed IMPS ..instead of IPMS, guess that's the long term effects of glue 😉
