I painted the cockpit with and old bottle of Gunze H315 which was too thin and had problems to take to the plastic.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/1/4/0/1529140-15588-51-720.jpg)
So , I primed the plastic with H417 and then overpainted wih H315. Also painted the inside of the fuselage in medium grey.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/1/4/1/1529141-15588-83-720.jpg)
Fuselage glued together
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/1/4/2/1529142-15588-82-720.jpg)
Good fit , as usually happens with Matchbox
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/0/1/4/1536014-15588-28-720.jpg)
Wings are now glued to fueselage, and some "trenches" have been covered with Gunze satin paint. I also tested the splinter camo in an old credit card..... I know the pattern and the colours are not true ... but it's just a test with the most similar paint I have at hand .... I think I can go for it ,,,,,
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/0/1/5/1536015-15588-79-720.jpg)
First coat of undersides. May be I should by a new can of paint. Fit is quite good , as ususal with Matchbox.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/2/8/1/1554281-15588-25-720.jpg)
As usual, I'm taking with me my most recent projects during my holidays. This time 9 days in the Pyrenees.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/8/3/1554283-15588-38-720.jpg)
Air intakes glued. I also tested the "true" colours for the camo in an old credit card .... It looks quite good to me ..... For the black colour I tested Rubber Black from Gunze and NATO black from Tamiya and I choose the later. Flat black looks to "strong" to me .....
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/2/8/2/1554282-15588-50-720.jpg)
Checking the fit of the intakes, which is not bad. I bought a new can of H308. It looks much better now.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/8/3/9/1572839-15588-81-720.jpg)
Canards glued in place. Fit is good. Matcbox kits may be basic , and have trenches as panel lines ... but the fit in most cases is superb.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/8/4/5/1588845-15588-85-720.jpg)
I've just started to paint the splinter camo by brush ,,,, like in the old times. Gunze paint is not very good for brush paint . I added some retarder, but I'm afraid I've added to much retarder, as the paint is now too thin.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/8/4/6/1588846-15588-63-720.jpg)
I've also updated my work place with a paint stand and a showcase.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/0/0/6/1610006-15588-73-720.jpg)
Light green has been painted over the tan base coat.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/0/0/7/1610007-15588-42-720.jpg)
Now it's time for olive-green
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/0/0/8/1610008-15588-99-720.jpg)
At first I planned to paint all colours step by step , i.e. first a base coat of tan , after that I painted all the light green areas, then olive green and in the end black. My first aim was to paint step by step all coulours to the whole aircraft.
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/0/0/9/1610009-15588-77-720.jpg)
But I felt it too complicated. So I changed my mind and now I'm painting all the collours by sectiuons. First right wing and canard.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/0/1/0/1610010-15588-90-720.jpg)
After that ,,, right fuselage and fin
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/0/1/1/1610011-15588-46-720.jpg)
Then fisrt colours for the left wing and fuselage.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/4/8/6/1619486-15588-61-720.jpg)
All four colours in place.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/4/8/7/1619487-15588-45-720.jpg)
I can call all paintng done. Now it needs just a few retouches and it will be ready for decalling.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/1/8/9/1630189-15588-78-720.jpg)
Decalling as per Matchbox intructions.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/1/9/1/1630191-15588-84-720.jpg)
Decalling completed.
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/1/9/0/1630190-15588-16-720.jpg)
Calling it done ... Just in time for the closing of the Group Build.
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/1/9/2/1630192-15588-82-720.jpg)
Let's see how it turns tomorrow when the glue is dry.
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/6/6/8/1630668-15588-16-720.jpg)
Today I've just realized that in the rush for having it completed by the end of the year I missed some items .... i.e. pitot tube and wheel well covers. I also forgot to paint the wing formation lights ....
![Album image #29 Album image #29](/albums/img/6/6/9/1630669-15588-23-720.jpg)
Now it's done
![Album image #30 Album image #30](/albums/img/6/7/0/1630670-15588-57-720.jpg)
And I also have added a couple of side-winders.
![Album image #31 Album image #31](/albums/img/6/7/1/1630671-15588-50-720.jpg)
I can call it done now.

Łukasz .... a splinter ? .... may be , may be ..... I have to check in a piece of plastic if I'm able to get a decent result with brush.

Love it.... this and the Sepecat Jaguar kit are full of nostalgia for me. Strange as I only built this once as a child.

The Jaguar was the second kit in the orange range ... impressive for us as teens at that time

Album info
As usual when going on holidays , I'm taking with me some modelling projects. This time I've started another model for the Matchbox 50th anniversary group. This will be a retro-modelling project, that is using the skills I had when the kit was released, i.e. no putty , no airbrush ... just careful building and paiting. This very kit was given to me by a fellow mate. Thanks Kevin .
