All that mottling pre-shading work looks scary, knowing my airbrush would end up spluttering at some point, no doubt. But perhaps, one can just go over it all in the end with some fine sand paper before proceeding with more layers of paint.

Treehugger: The paint must be very diluted and the nozzle must be cleaned of dried paint.
