Thanks to Thomas Neuß my Shackleton now sits on a beautiful display base! Of course, this was made primarily for our tab...

Thanks guys! Yes, after many small planes it was time for something bigger. Up to now construction was very smooth. However, I didn't pay too much attention to the interior as only the front cockpit will be somewhat visible once the fuselage halves are closed. That's also the reason why I didn't buy the Eduard PE set for the interior.

Like many of you I'm now more or less "confined to my premises". So here's some progress 🙂

Do you recommend using that big flat tweezer you are using for applying decals? As seen in photo 1.

I'm using that flat tweezer to put the decal (with the back paper still on) onto the model. Once its on the model I slide the decal off the back paper in place where it belongs.

Looking very nice, Bernd! I don't think Shackletons or any maritime aircraft were ever very clean.

Just saw this project- quite well done, what a precisely executed build so far! I will follow with interest.

Thanks guys! I'm finally finished! The hardest part was taking the photos as this model is almost too big for my photo cube and it's a white model against a white backdrop. But after adding some more lights to my photo set up it turned out the way I wanted 🙂

Gordon:- Maritime aircraft tend to be washed down after every flight, the salt water environment they fly in does really nasty things to metal.

Excellent clean and realistic build - from propeller positioning to the last detail... 👍 ...and top pictures 👍

Thanks for all your nice comments! Well, I'm not sure if every small window and air vent is correct for an early type Mk.2 - frankly I doubt it when I look at some photos. But the propeller positioning was indeed something I spent some minutes' thought on. It was "chaotic and interesting" vs. "straight in line". The latter can be found in many photos where it almost looks like the ground crew has positioned the propellers as shown here on the model - in order for the aircraft not to look too "untidy".

Very nice, Bernd! Is it a good kit, like the Airfix Buccaneer or the Lightning?

Thanks! @David Funke: It's a nice kit. I don't have the Buccaneer or the Lightning so I cannot compare those kits. The fit of the main landing gear wheel wells to the wings was a bit tricky. Apart from that it went together really well.

Thanks for your kind words!

Siehe Bild 17.
