I have mixed feelings about this zimmerit sheet. The quality was great! No doubt about it - BUT there's no excuse to not cutting the pieces with a laser cutter or knife plotter my Tamiya. Cutting out the pieces wasn't too hard, but all the little holes that needed cutting was a different story... I eventually resorted to using small PCB drills to cut the holes needed, but perfect it wasn't and unless Tamiya starts to pre-cut the individual pieces I won't do another zimmerit sheet. Just my opinion.

Hi Jens,
i have this sheet too and i am not very amused, too. And i experienced that in corners or edges the glue dont stick enough. And for the holes, you have to take a punch and die set.
BTW welcome to scalemates!
Cheers Holger

I badly wanted a punch set when I discovered that you had to cut all those holes in the sheet, but they are sadly missing from my otherwise extensive "toolbox", but brand new PCB drills did the trick - but it was slow and required more than a few breaks in order to "cool down"...
I've been lucky so far with my zimmerit still sticking well to the model, but I made sure not to touch the sticky side prior to placing them and I hope it'll work in the long run? I'd be a bit upset if they start to peel off in a year or so... Regardless, unless Tamiya pre-cuts these zimmerit sheets I won't ever use them again. Not fully thought through if you ask me - but they look fantastic when done!
Thanks for you kind comment!
