J_R_SGlencoe did the modeling world a great service with this 1996 reissue of Lindberg's classic 1954 "Flying Saucer" kit -- the first science fiction / space-related plastic model kit ever made, which had been out of production for over 20 years. It would have been less confusing if they had kept the original name instead of calling it "U.F.O." -- but then Lindberg themselves had changed the name of their 1978 "glow in the dark" reissue to "Unidentified Flying Object UFO" as well, so what's a collector to do?
Everything about the model and the decals are identical to the 1954 original, so there is no way to tell from looking at the model what year it is from.
