Thought it might be a good idea to do a little review of the models that I've made this year as I've been photographing ...

Anybody know what the best "yellow" to use for this is? That's what the instructions call for, but it looks more like a light brown. I'm talking about the engine "petals".

I think it is heavy weather yellow. I guess yellow with a bit of brown and some washes will do the trick.

I am using Testors yellow zinc chromate enamel on mine. It's a flat paint, but if you "polish" the dried paint with a paper towel, it gives it enough of a sheen to allow the decals to stick properly.

The yellow I used was yellow ocher from Vallejo air. Maybe watching you guys tackle this kit will inspire me to finish mine! Beware of the decals though, they are more like pieces of vinyl or something, and will not soften and conform to the surface. It's the one thing that's been holding me up all this time. Someday when I learn how to print my own decals I'll return, and the circle will be complete. Good luck!
