We bought this car about 1980. It was just a Plain Jane stock Camaro that was pretty beat up. Over the next 6 years I did a frame off restoration of the complete car...everything new or rebuilt. I put in a 283 w/power pac heads and a Rochester 4 jet carb & headers and a tricked out Turbo 350 trans. That little car would shit N git !!
All new interior, headliner, upholstery, carpet, everything. Repainted all the metal inside.
Repainted everything from the frame up. all new body bushings and all new front end. The car drove like a dream, like brand new.
I bought the 69 cowl induction new from a guy we knew that dealt in GM factory parts. I cut the standard bolt on spoiler from a 68/69 to 3 pieces and molded it to the body & trunk w/Dynaglass. Then painted it with double deep black nitrocellulose lacquer & buffed it to a mirror finish.
It was a thing of beauty !! SWEET SWEET SWEET !!
Ended up selling it in 86 after my daughter was born.
I put $5000 on the For Sale sign. Everybody said I was crazy it will never sell for that much (in 1986). I said you wait and see !
But some older guy bought it for his granddaughters graduation present, no questions asked, it was that beautiful.
Wish I still had it today ! I have a picture of it somewhere, hope to find it one day
