Revell 1954 Chevrolet

From the Revell Chevy Combo kit (about 1987). 54, 55 & 57 Chevy's. The 55 & 57 have opening hood trunk & doors. The 54 has only the hood open but the doors & trunk are made to open. Pretty much the same as the "Highboy", "53/54 Gasser", "Happy Days" kits I think, smaller tires in the front, optional straight axle front end, etc.
Actually it's a pretty poor representation of a 54 Chevy in my opinion (as is the Monogram 53 Chevy kit).
From what I remember and from the pictures I've been looking at the 53 & 54 are the same body, just different grill, bumpers, taillights. Not so with these 2 kits. The Mono 53 is way bigger. I think the rear quarters are too long, the Revell's too short. The Revell 54 has no chrome trim for the headlights or taillights, Mono's 53 does, but won't fit the Revell.
I do like Mono's 53 body better, but the Revell 54 grill, or anything else for that matter wont fit it. So I'm stuck with the Revell......It's gonna be a lot of work!!
