What color did you use for the base coat in this picture? About to start this kit now.

For the colour, I found a presentation by Harvey Low from 2015 called "Japanese armour, and tank crew uniform colours & markings 1937 - 1945. His Tamiya mix for this light brown was XF-49 Khaki (60%)+ XF-60 Dark Yellow (15%)+ XF-4 Yellow-Green (15%) + XF-67 Nato Green (10%). He lists Gunze Acrylic H71 Middle Stone as a match.

The other camo colours will be dark brown XF-9 Hull Red (45%) + XF-68 Nato Brown (45%) + XF-69 Nato Black (10%); and green (Dark Version: XF-13 IJA Green or H340 Field Green) (Light Version XF-67 Nato Green or H58 (Interior Green)). I'm not sure if links work in these comments, but I'll add one here. A quick google will also find it.

Thanks, Nelson. I got a bit bogged down with limited time, and waiting for some supplies, so will hopefully get it moving again soon.

Yes the links worked. Thank you very much this will come in handy. Since I've moved on to this kit from borders crusader, waiting for fruil tracks or another companys metal tracks to be restocked.

Do you know what the interior color would be for Japanese armor in ww2?

I found this thread that says matt white (track-link.com/forums/research_ww2/911/flat), while another forum said ivory. Hopefully some help, but hardly definitive.
