Thanks guys!
Ben M, I did it freehand using my Badger Renegade Krome airbrush and Hataka lacquer thinned 60% with Mr. Color leveling thinner 400. It's not as hard as it seems. I practiced a few rings on the nitrile glove I was wearing during my painting session.

This was a very enjoyable build, with great fit. The only real issue I had was the top engine cowl was a little short by about .020 inches. Some sheet styrene solved the problem. This was my first Italian aircraft model and my first attempt at painting smoke rings. Most of the color paint is from Hataka's Orange top lacquer set for Italian WWII aircraft. I used the True Details cockpit set for the kit, but since I posed the canopy closed, there is not much to see of it. It fit well enough, except for the instrument panel, which needed a lot of trimming.
