Airbus A350-900 (Custom Livery)

Album image #1
Im an aircraft mechanic, and since the A350 is the first ever plane ive ever worked with i wanted to make a model kit of it. Also, having worked with it, and with other planes, ive realised what a piece of engineering is it compared to some other aircraft.

For this kit, i will be using the A350 conversion kit for the revell one A350. Even though it is not for this particular kit, the PE set works well. I will be making my own details too.

For the paintjob i will not be using the aeroflot decals. My idea is to try and work my own details and livery, so the painting is going to be based on my liking, not referenced to a real A350.

The NLG well, ill be adding more detail once i ensemble it with the NLG.

Ive added the HYD wiring and the nose ldg lights that came with the PE SET, and also added the springs that actuate when retracting and extending de landing gear. Ive made them with 0.1mm copper wire.

Cockpit fully assembled and painted. I tried to add as much detail as I could, but at this scale is hardly possible. Also, the blue Airbus color was hard to get, as I had to mix several colors to obtain it

I tried to add more hydraulic and electrical lines, I don't know if I like the end result, but overall I think the assembly looks nice for the scale

Album image #9
Cockpit and NLG now assembled together

Album image #10
Added a fire extinguisher and the side sticks. Even though it's probably not going to be seen, I wanted to try my skill. I wanted to give more depth to the cockpit, but at this scale, I don't think it's worth i

Some more details added from the PE set for the belly. I had to carve out a little of the plastic to fit it flush with the surface. I'll have to use some putty to cover around the details

Cockpit, and fuselage glued together

Album image #13
First sanding session. The fit is really nice

First fit between the fuselage and the wings

Recently i finsihed watching the Obi-Wan series on Disney, and since i didnt know yet what livery i wanted to paint on to this model i thought, what if the universe of Star War was happening in ours? So i started thinking and cam up with this idea. I wanted to recreate an imperial diplomatic transport for Darth Vader. I designed it entirely with photoshop and illustrator, whit hopes of printing the details in some decal paper i purchased recently. Lets see now how can i put this in to the real model.

Starting the work on the engine, already sub-asembled and painted independently

Started with the MLG. It's going to be hard fitting all the details in such a tiny piece

Album image #19
Engines already painted. I encountered some problems while assembly, that made me make some mistakes. Overall I'm happy but it's not the result I was looking for.

if you know the real stuff first hand, that will be a very nice build to follow 🙂

The only downside of knowing a lot of this plane is that I'm always trying to add all the details, even though at this scale is almost imposible 🥴🥴

I agree with Spanjaard - would love to see the details you're going to put into it!

…scale permitting. 😀

Lot of work done today, probably more putty and sanding needed after priming

I had this project on hold this last month due to work. Now i have a couple of free weeks in which i hope to continue working on this model. Today i started working on wich livery i wanted to paint onto the plane. I wanted somehting original so i came up with this crazy idea. Lets see how it turns out.

😂😂 I know I've thrown away any accuracy with this build, but once the idea came to my mind I couldn't throw it out

Well, due to some problems while using liquid masking to mask the windows, all the paint job I had done is now wasted. For now ill leave the project on hold because in the future I'll try to buy some masks and new decals for the windows and other parts that are going to be destroyed while removing the paint. The other choice I have is to completely cover the windows with paint and make it windowless 🥴🥴. My recommendation for airliner builds, invest in some masking, and never use liquid mask for small windows.

It's a shame but ill start a new kit soon, so I can think about the solution for a bit and forget about this mistakes. Nothing is going to stop me now 😂😂
