Rudy Poseika Autor"Palette Cleanser" - so far a 3 day - weekend build. Assembly and some weathering done. TODO- clear coat - decals - a little more weathering and flat coat.
The main issue was working on the little soldiers... Even with magnifying glasses head band I could not detail the faces..

Spanjaardnot sure if a tree would survive de crash of the gladiator, but it is a nice way to present it 😉

Rudy Poseika AutorChris - about the canopy - I had the same question for you. My kit had the Malcolm hood oob. It must be a different issue of the kit. The reference drawing for P51 B VFU is for May 1944. The pilot was shot down in May '44 and was a POW. - about the 'really quick': I have SLOWED down. This was a 3 week effort. I came back to the hobby after a 40+ year pause. Last year when I restarted I was doing a model a week! -I could not keep up that pace as I would run out of room for the finished models. Now I pause a few days, clean up my workspace and start again.

Rudy Poseika AutorALMOST complete. The optional rigging instructions showed 30 lines. I used 20 (did not double up in the front). A little more touch ups and add the engine and on to the next. The next model will be my first with PHOTO ETCH...

Rudy Poseika AutorGenerally happy with the results. *Need to work on rigging in general...
*I did have a bright yellow acrylic but it would not stick well on the primer. I ended up using the Tamiya yellow green and the coating was good - just not 'yellow yellow'.
*The ordering of the wrong decals was a bummer. Also - recap - the first time I had two models on the go. Today was a cold but sunny day. A good day to take the 'official' portraits outside.

Rudy Poseika AutorNot bad for a 50+ year old kit. Could not have done it without decal film. The decals were not yellowed but did look 'dry'... Kit complete and 'flying'.

Rudy Poseika AutorSince none saw action I was uncertain of weathering. I did some highlighting which turned into some wear and tear. The yellow round decals were delicate and the upper port circle was torn just by a touch of a finger (trying to flatten a wrinkle). The red circle on top hid the blemish but it shows as the depressed area it is.
