SkyhikerThanks Patrick, your right there is always more to discover and do. I'm having fun with it. Of course I have no idea what it will look like in the end. I'm spending far too many hours allowing myself to be lost in process. But if that's what it takes, why not?

SkyhikerIt's amazing how every kit I look at of a FW Ta 152 H is different. All the photos of the original aircraft are so blurry that details are impossible to pick out, so I'm left with looking at kits and guessing which ones are correct.

SkyhikerI bought this blade and unfortunately it broke within a day of use. I wrote to the manufacturer requesting a replacement today. I'll let you know if they respond.

Michael KohlLooks beautiful. I still fight an uphill battle with my Revell 1:144 one. Yours being Heller moulds I suppose building it was more straightforward. Good, that you kept the nose up. Looks better that way. 🙂

SkyhikerThanks guys. The nose on this kit has a lot of issues. I scratch built the inside of the nose floor and kept it in the up position because the engineering was very poor. Other than that the kit is great and went together quickly.

SkyhikerThis kit is very old and has many flaws. Expect to do a lot of scratch building if you want to make it look acceptable.

SkyhikerNicolas I started putting my models in frames, as a temporary solution to keep the dust off of them, after I found a model on my shelf covered with an inch (2cm) of dust. The mirror I stuck underneath the plane because I wanted to be able to see the bottom of the plane. Some day I hope to have enough room to make a proper display case with dramatic lighting, but for now the frames will have to do. They are pretty versatile but have some draw backs. Acrylic cases would be better because then I could see more of the plane, but I can't afford that. The frames are 7 times cheaper to make.

SkyhikerThomas, thanks for the compliment. The canopy mirror from the kit was just a dumb little bump that I ended up sanding off. I replaced it with a cut down needle and some styrene after looking at photos of the original plane. It was hard to find vintage photos but eventually I came across a few. I think it came out pretty well considering the 1/72 scale. Of course photo-etch would have been better but I couldn't be bothered with that. I just wanted to finally get it done.
