Incorrect details in plastic. Actually, one column should have all bars, the other - none. It was a built-in ladder for maintenance.

And that`s all for now! Much fun to build, lot`s of details to glue, time to rest now, lol

Album image #51
Finally tried to spray Tamiya Surface Primer. Could skipped this step to have more crisp details, but whatever. Did a test with small leftover decals beforehand, but it would be easier if they actually provided spare pattern parts, not just logo.

Album image #52
Wheels are not glued, but almost all the interior is. Still think it`ll be easier that way than dealing with scratches later. Ammo racks and hatches were fixed with patafix while priming so I won`t have additional layer of primer between parts.

Album image #53
Not much progress this week. Base tone for Cremeweiss. Mr Color C69 + C39

Album image #54
And highlights for it. C69 + GX1 + C318

Album image #55
Album image #56
Probably not contact enough, will see after red.

Album image #57
Lots of masking....

Album image #58
Album image #59
Grey color will be done with brush. Will be much faster.

Album image #60
So for base color I used mix of C131, C318, GX1, GX3. Hard to tell the proportions.

Album image #61
And for highlights a.k.a. main color it was mostly C318, GX3 and C526. And few drops of GX1. The Tiger is for comparison with Ammo Mig's red from interior set. Interesting choice, but too orange I guess.

Album image #62
Hoped to paint grey for engine with airbrush fast. Worked, but still need some fixes with brush.

Next step is to paint details with a brush! The transmission, radios, green and black parts. And also ammo racks with airbrush (no masks this time!). And some effects!

Album image #72
Black, grey and green.

Album image #73
They say you can paint anything you can see on miniatures. Guess this is true: you can paint all visible torsion bars.

Album image #74
More black, more grey, a little of green, silver and gunmetal. Also fixed red and white.

Only ammo and radiators are left for airbrushing. Optics and machine guns also need some finishing touches. Probably I won't add chipping to the interior because of high density of details, but at least I'll add some dust later.

Album image #80
Start of the worst part: ammo. Was it worth time masking at the end? Ehhh

Album image #81
Some problems with silver, but not bad!

Album image #82
Ehhh, the central ammo rack didn't receive enough orange clear

Album image #83
Tips and their guiding rings. Probably those should be of steel color, but I have no intentions to redo them.

Album image #84
What`s left here is to add decals and some dust

Album image #85
I don't know how Ammo Mig continues making small mistakes with those color guides. They did them for lots of panther and tiger kits, but still... Even front and behind renders are not exactly matched (if you look at transmission colors, some parts are grey or red on front shot, and not those colors on behind shot)

Album image #86
The problems with this particular guide are at least those:
1) You don't have clear views of transmission colors from both angles, what are red mountings and control rods, and what are not
2) How do the radios look?
3) Where are the med kits?
4) How does the turret look from below? 2 shots and no angle with stuff under seats!
5) Does engine cooling all red? Won't fans be sprayed with dark yellow with the hull?
6) What are those black boxes on the sides near front? Another periscopes?
7) How exactly does the ammo look? Did you notice that there are 3 types of ammo tips here?

Oh, I didn't think about why the difference with the instructions for the towers. It turns out that they were different - one with a ladder, and the other without.

It looks like from 4 decal variants 3 are SS regiments. *Sigh* I guess no decals then. Does anyone if the boxart camouflage pattern was specific only for those?

Ammo racks done. Not great not terrible. Probably the guiding rings on them should be steel color, but at this point I don't care... Hard to paint them and the color guide doesn't help with this stuff at all. Did you notice that there are 3 types of ammo here or you just assumed that's another render mistake? Well, the ammo under the turret, the ammo on sides and ammo in vertical racks are different and have ammo tips with different profiles and length. At least I can tell that vertical ones are AP and should be black and side ammo is HE and should have green and steel tips.... But what exactly is the under-turret-floor-ammo I don't know. It's shorter than AP and have carving on rather middle of the tip sooo it's likely an AP shot, but it also misses the second guiding ring.... I just assumed it's also an AP, probably an earlier version.

Decals have matt coating and it doesn't look like Tamiya Mark Fit Strong works on them. Probably need to seal them later
