As always, I start somewhere where it's funny to start a model.
In this case I was curious how to detail the towers with the Mini World PE parts.

Kannst Du die Fotostrecke noch mit dem Bausatz verbinden? Dann kann man den Baubericht bei dem Bausatz finden.

I'm afraid it will all sound very familiar to a German (my Girlfriend is German and her family understand me quite well when I swear 😉 )

Aghis was so kind to translate it for me:

The initial idea was to construct a boat in rescue service in 1940-41 painted overall yellow (trainer yellow HU24). In 1944, however, after heavy losses of ships and crews they were painted grey overall (sea grey HU 27) for better concealment. The yellow was painted first, and then certain areas on the surface were selected and covered with mascol HU. Then the grey was sprayed on and once dry the mascol was removed to achieve the worn effect. The boat hull was painted black (HU 85). Before this, various ropes had been positioned on deck and painted with white acrylic.
In the cabin (whale spine) the Vickers' protective baskets were made out of wire, as well as the railing for Oerlikon 20mm.
Oerlikon 20mm: The gun that stands out in the bow was also upgraded. Crosshair sights were added out of thin wire. Thin aluminum sheet was used for the gunner harness, while the spent cartridge chute was made out of paper. Stretched sprue was used for the boat rigging, while... thin straw - split in 4 was used for the ring supports.
