Started this rare resin kit which I bought at a flea market couple months ago. Can't wait to bring it alive..

Servus Jürgen, ich kannte dieses Flugzeug bis jetzt gar nicht - man lernt eben nie aus. Es sieht so aus, als ob du da einiges an Spachtelarbeit vor dir hast. Gutes gelingen!

Watching for sure! I have the same kit in my stash - and its quality is comparable... save the spinner, which consists half of resin and half of an air pocket :/ Keep my fingers crossed 😉

Hi mates - thx for you interest.
And Yes, Stefan - putty will be needed. Plenty of.

old fashioned short run resin kit, have not seen one like this for a while. tons of work, but you will get a fantastic almost unique piece!

I wonder which kit is more difficult to assemble: resin or vaccuform?

That looks like a lot of work to me, fingers crossed that it will be a nice result despite everything. The example is definitely worth the effort.👍

It reminds me a lot to Dujin's Loire 210 that I have. Horrible resin full of bubbles, bent parts and other imperfections. A lot of work to do.
You're doing a great job, Juergen!

Hi Duster_d - that is a tricky question. At the end I guess it is less question of what is more difficult rather than a question of "how many hours I am willing to spend" to get this kit in shape.
Vaccu definetly is eating up more of the time.
I like both ways as they cover a sometimes really rare aircraft types.

So this tiny resin kit is back in the workbench. As expected - a lot of imperfections need to be reworked on the surface. Had some starting issues with the new A-Stand colours I used for the first time.

Great work on what looks like difficult (and small!) kit, Juergen!

Thank you gentlemen - your comments are needed to keep the motivation up (usually I like the challenges of old and/or short-run kits, but this one is exhausting me a bit). 🙂

... it seems, however, that your are passing the test with flying colours...! 👍 👍 Great work, as everyone agrees!

Following along. Takes guts to tackle a resin kit and this one seems particularly challenging 👍

What a ugly bunch of resin parts, but you managed to convert them in a glossy piece of metal 👍
I thought A-Stand is a re-branded Alclad? I love the Alclad Primer on plastic as it bites into the surface but had not so good experience on resin. Same result during removing masks 🙁 I got a recommendation from a resin figure painter to use Mr. Paint primer and this one works ok for me so far (but do not has the micro filler as Alclad).

thx Alec & Bughunter.
@ bughunter. I was not aware that is is just a rebrand. But I had a different "feeling" on how the paint behave during application and defenitly they smell different. I have to check for the remaining AlClad stuff to make a comparision.

really curious about that, still got a good number of Alclad bottles, but they will not last for ever....m

Internet comments definitly say this is a rebrand of the same product. mmh... I just checked my stash. The metalizers smell same but not the primers - for what ever reason (or my imagination is playing tricks?) at least the primer seems to be different (different odor & it took definitly longer to get dry compared to the 2 Mustangs I just recently did with the AlcladII primer). Anyhow...I will look for a new kit to undergo further tests 😉
cheers mates
