Good Day, Chris You got a great deal on this kit at the Capital City AMPS. I love the RFM kits, the industry has come a long way in the last ten years. I have four Rye Field Shermans in my stash. One of them (kit RM-5028) has the marking from the 68th Tank Battalion, German 1945.("A Paper Doll" with a boxing turtle and large 23 on the side) Archer had these decals and they were on my Tamiya Sherman at the Capital City AMPS this weekend. Well, when the Rye Field kit came out, I e-mailed the owner of Archer Fine Transfers, Woody, to ask if Archer was in conjunction with the release of the kit. He stated that Rye Field had nothing to do with him and did not ask permission to use the same decals as he was selling. Getting back to the AMPS show, the only reason my kit was cheaper, was that the box was ripped up in a few places and possible he gave me more off as I assisted him on Friday night to bring all his product into the building. Yeah, this will be the 3rd RFM Firefly I've bought. I liked the one I've built, perhaps it's only fault is being too complex, 19 pieces per bogie is a tad excessive. As I find myself doing more Canadian subjects, I like having a few Firefly's in the stash and the one Vc I had is going to get built soon, so it was great to replenish it, I'm never going to beat that price. I had a quick trip in to the city yesterday for work so stopped at both Express and JP. Ended up getting Jack to order one of those Gecko Model Ram Kangaroo's, Yeah, I forgot to ask you what you had taken, I guess I assumed you might have been empty handed like in Regina. What else was yours?

Curious, there would be no reason why they would have to ask permission, is there? As long as they are making it from scratch using the same photos, there isn't really anything anyone could do about it. I see Braille Strike and Bison both have that marking as well.

" I think you are asking what did I enter in the Capital City AMPS contest, right??? I entered a Tamiya Tiger I kit #35216 (gold) and a Tamiya Sherman kit #35251 (silver) plus I set out two toon tank paint mules from the aforementioned kits.
As for the "ask permission" yes, there is no reason to seek permission!!
