Blimey!
That makes me want to strip it down and return it to it's former glory!
I never thought I'd ever say this, but I'm glad your decals failed. You should consider exhibiting this, at your next local show. I thought it was real at first.

Wow. Very nice. I'm always impressed by the fascinating irony of these kinds of builds. To make them look like they've been neglected, you have to do an enormous amount of work.

The front forks did it for me. That surface rust is just perfect! I can imagine the pitting on the stanchions and the oil leaking from the seals! Kinda wants you to buy it, and save it?

Totally ridiculous! Totally gob-smacked! When a walk-around melds into a super-real work of art! Congratulations on your creation🙂

Album info
I bought this kit as I had built the 1300 and needed this to complete my collection.
I knew it was an old kit and subject to some deterioration the tires were fine so I figured I was safe.
I did a great paint job on it but when I applied the decals they disintegrated on contact. I was pretty upset about but a friend told me to weather the "heck" out of it.
I had never weathered any model before so I figured what the heck. I had all the pastels in stock and knew the basics of weathering so I did. Here is the result and some of the work in progress shots
