I have bought it first in 1978 when I wanted a Mirage III and the Hobby Shop doesn't have no other than the then "NEW" Lindberg kit. Between 1990 and 2013 I bought three or four very cheap from different sources and really, I feel the model is very workable and don't look too much bad, just the snap fix canopy will need some improvement and little less and little more panel lines. O agree with Lukas, the Iraqis didn't use Mirage III, but the decals could be useful to be used in other projects.

I'd like to take meassures and make comparisons with Revell and Heller ones and make a review for this poor one and make one in a one tone cammo. Let me see....🙂

Hi Luis,
There are some sources that mention the use of Mirage V on loan from Egypt during the Iran-Iraq-War. The V is an export variant of the Mirage III. Thus the decal option is not completely wrong.

Hi Stefan:
Thank you very much for the info you share with us, it could have happened as the Egyptians have bought the Brazilian Tucano for assembly and later delivery to Iraq....sounds logic. BTW, have you any Mirage III/5 in your stash?
Cheers,

Yes, I have. I have the one from PJ Production in my stash. I guess it is a much better kit compared to the old Lindberg kit.
In 1986 eight egyptian Mirage V SDR were transfered to the IrAF for a five week trial period. My sources say that they were also flown by iraqi pilots from time to time.

Hi Stefan: Thank you very much for sharing the info about IrAF, will look for a pic of this one as a friend of mine is from arab descendance and really love to build arab planes. BTW I have found an Egyptian AF Mirage III R with nice colours, and a guy who made a Cheetah with this old Lindberg kit. BTW I have begun cleaning parts and prepare for build, really decided to have a go with this one, obviously making corrections using the Revell kit and some plans found in internet on weekend. I also have two Heller III/V/ IIIR kits, will look for the PJ, I have heard this one is one of the very best. Cheers,
