Well. One might gripe about the detail in the cockpit and I wasn't overly keen on the gear bays and gear legs... but overall? It's a fairly nice kit and an easy, surprise-free build. I put Model Alliance RAAF decals on mine.

Hi Xenia, Umm... you put RAAF decals on a F-86F? 😠 oh no! The RAAF CA-27 Sabre was a very different beast! Much larger/deeper diameter intake! In fact you need a conversion fuselarge like the Tasman Models one they made for the Fujimi kit! Trust me it was different to every other Sabre ever made! But what the hell i did that with a matchbox kit many years ago too! 🙂

Yes, Glenn, I know... *hangs head*. I didn't know about a conversion kit? I only saw the full Avon Sabre kits and had to decide they're a bit pricy for me right now... but I really wanted an Aussie Sabre! 🙂

Hi Dean, to be honest i don't know, I planned on building the Fujimi kits with the Tasman conversion straight outta box (all you do is change the fuselarge and away you go) High planes models may have done a kit for the CA-27 Sabre in both 1/72 and 1/48 but again there most likely hard to get now. I not sure if Red Roo Models do anything? Pavla may have something but again it would be for a F-86. Hannants might have something in photoetch have a look? I don't go out of my way in adding photoetch stuff too much unless it's a very bare cockpit! Just remember search for CA-27 more so than F-86, I have the Tasman item listed on my stash.
