Can anybody suggest a method of producing the melted remnants of a plastic tarp? It's for my ongoing burnt-out Leo 2 project. I'm considering a some variation on a PVA/Acrylic paint mixture but I'm not convinced that would provide the kind of finish I'm after …

Soak a thin tissue in white glue, shape to form. When dry you can fray the edges and poke some holes. Paint in your colour of choice and add some fire stains. My 2 cents.
