Suggestion for the site, in the whatsnew.php page.
Almost all topics are marked in categories. Album, projects, etc. Why not use this to filter what appears in the newsfeed, with the same filters as the "kits" page (IE SCM Search: *) ? For example I just want to see jet planes, or tanks in a certain war, etc...
