It appears that we are on the same frequency. I just purchased my Hornet last night! It will probably be this time next year before I open the box! I just wanted to complete the draining of my bank account with a bang! So, I HAVE to stay away from the market and just focus on the kits that I own.
Let me know when you want me to get serious with the Apache hunt. I will try to stay focused on the Revell-De since it will be a later-issued kit and just a little better overall. I'm building a circa '87 model and it is showing its age with heat warp and whatever else happens to styrene that's been in a box for 25 years.

That is probably the best kit I've ever purchased and built. They take up some significant room on the shelf (and the stash closet), but really worth the money in my opinion. Get yourself the G-Factor brass landing gear replacement. The kit gear will sag after about 3 months even with the white metal inserts. Also, D-Mold intake replacements are handy too. The kit intakes are too narrow and shallow. D-Mold makes really good replacements with seamless trunking.

I already have the intakes and these are geat.
I have used 1 set on my current build of the F/A 18 and have fore that one the landing gear from sac.
I have no idee when i will start the next one

David, thanks for the head's-up on the G-Factor landing gear for the Academy F/A-18C. I would have completely missed that inside tip since I am not at all familiar (yet) with the company. I started a search to go to the company website - but evidently the domain name is inactive or Ernie Gee hasn't commissioned a web master. I'll find them eventually, but I would appreciate some vectors and what to look for & what to avoid. I cannot say that have ever known of a kit that will sag under it's own weight! Ironically, the MLG (main landing gear) on the -18 takes a horrendous pounding - especially with live stores on the hardpoints & racks. Thanks much. Kevin Farrell
