Augie Yeah I might be getting two.. One to replace the travesty that is the hobby boss one and one to replace the italeri I have
5. October 2014 at 17:16:34
Hunter Cummins Why is hobbyboss bad??? And dont blame you for the italeri one
5. October 2014 at 17:56:56
Joseph Johnson the rear stabilizers on the hobby kit are out of shape the forward leading edge are curved slightly instead of sharp an straight at least that is what I have read so far.
5. October 2014 at 18:22:01
Augie LOL and thats just the start Joseph, the front fuelage is way off shape.. as is the canopys.. the list is excessive for that one.
5. October 2014 at 18:23:06
Hunter Cummins Wait those are for the hobbyboss one right???
5. October 2014 at 18:59:49
Joseph Johnson yea that is the Hobby Boss kit it has quite a bit of shape issues as far as the Italeri version cant say have not read any reviews on it but the Revell version is supposed to be best and only version with the drop slat's and open or closed exhaust nozzles and twice as cheaply priced at least from what i have seen on the reviews out of the 3 kits so Im going to have to get one as well. it is rare to See Revell have a kit that is top dog over the competition their 1/48 strike eagle was their first kit to do that you have to give Revell some credit they are really trying hard to make as best they can make while keeping them priced like they have for over 30 years.

Guus Spoke to some guys from Wingman Productions and according to them Revell will release a RAF version later and also an ADV.
6. October 2014 at 10:22:45
Joseph Johnson Yup probally the same mold just different markings
6. October 2014 at 15:18:21
Guus Not for the ADV I hope :)
6. October 2014 at 16:43:21

6. October 2014 at 18:14:04

8. October 2014 at 00:04:00
Clifford Keesler Thanks guys. You are both early, but my kids always get my presents early ,because they know they may take awhile to get here. My Toranado arrived in the mail this morning. Awesome kit is all I can say! Hard to believe it is Revell.
8. October 2014 at 19:03:22
Clifford Keesler The Decals are going to be scary though.
8. October 2014 at 19:30:39
Augie mwhahahah tweasers and decal fix are your friend
8. October 2014 at 23:02:36
Joseph Johnson from what I have been told the decals for this kit are made in Italy supposedly by a very good decal company.
they are nice an colorful.
9. October 2014 at 04:58:19
Joseph Johnson You would be surprised a lot of Revell's newer kits like this one are getting very nice and still with cheap prices.
9. October 2014 at 04:59:55
Clifford Keesler I know, I am still a Revell fan. Their decals are usually very nice. What worriers me about thisone is the unique color scheme. I may just go with a regular line jet.
12. October 2014 at 19:47:29
Joseph Johnson These decals in this kit are nothing short than just plain beautiful colorful decals something im used to dealing with used them on my F4 E/J which is now finished by the way there is another version of the IDS kit out same kit as this one just lighter decals look it up it is all gray with just a mediun eagle 's or tigers head on the tail and regular German markings maby you can hit up revell and see if they will let you have those markings would not hurt to ask. just a thought.
12. October 2014 at 20:28:10
Clifford Keesler Thanks, that is a good idea. I was just going through my E-mails and Hobbylinc had sent me an E-mail that they now have that very kit in stock.
12. October 2014 at 20:33:42
Joseph Johnson Yea take a look at it see what you think. I might have to get that as well eventually lol but one kit at a time I cant afford to build up a large stash of kits. like I used to be able to do before the recssion ruined everything.
12. October 2014 at 20:54:17
Clifford Keesler I have the biggest stash I have ever had. But that keeps me from buying all that neat stuff you find on sale or on E-Bay, the first thing out of my wife's mouth is "you have a closet full of stuff you haven't even built yet". But she is pretty good about aftrer market stuff for what I already have. Evey now ans then I can talk her into one, or beg it out of the kids. LOL.
12. October 2014 at 23:15:05
Joseph Johnson lol I hear you well myself I im not married or have any kids so I have quite a bit of free time on my hands these days except for work and home and until I can afford my own place againe I don't bother with dating lol
13. October 2014 at 02:06:49
Guus @Joseph and Clifford, please be careful with the decal version you mention. The picture on the Hobbylinc site is an older publicity shot for this kit, the same picture was used on the Revell Germany website before the boxart became available.
13. October 2014 at 10:54:41
Joseph Johnson that would not surprise me. for me personally I love the decals that came with mine but the one thing Im really curious about is the American stars and stripes decals that will go on the bottom of the stabilizers have not been able to find any info on that as to why it is on a German aircraft but I do like it.
13. October 2014 at 16:57:01
Guus Hi Joseph, this might answer your question about the stars 'n stripes:
13. October 2014 at 18:20:48
Joseph Johnson ok that shines some light so in other words its like a joint base or attack setup the Germans provide the aircraft our munitions support squadrons stationed there provides the weapons it think that sounds about right from what I gathered.
