Especially since I built this kit myself last year. Although I didn't put so much effort and detail into it as you are doing.
Skyhiker Nicolas I started putting my models in frames, as a temporary solution to keep the dust off of them, after I found a model on my shelf covered with an inch (2cm) of dust. The mirror I stuck underneath the plane because I wanted to be able to see the bottom of the plane. Some day I hope to have enough room to make a proper display case with dramatic lighting, but for now the frames will have to do. They are pretty versatile but have some draw backs. Acrylic cases would be better because then I could see more of the plane, but I can't afford that. The frames are 7 times cheaper to make.

Skyhiker Thomas, thanks for the compliment. The canopy mirror from the kit was just a dumb little bump that I ended up sanding off. I replaced it with a cut down needle and some styrene after looking at photos of the original plane. It was hard to find vintage photos but eventually I came across a few. I think it came out pretty well considering the 1/72 scale. Of course photo-etch would have been better but I couldn't be bothered with that. I just wanted to finally get it done.

Skyhiker Thanks Neil. The group build was fun. It's nice to other people's approach to the same subjects. Let me know if you join any other group builds.
Skyhiker After being burnt out for 3 months I finally got enough energy to start modeling again. I bought some new paints from AK Air and was trying them out on a paint mule. I was pretty impressed. They're not as good as Tamiya but better than any other acrylic I have ever used.
A few days later the time had come to put the final coat of paint on my model. After cleaning the house together with my wife I told my family today was the big day. I was excited about how things were going again but needed to concentrate since the paint was new for me. I specifically said not to disturb me while I was painting.
The painting started off good... I put down a light coat and then decided to try laying a wet coat over the whole surface. Fully focused on this task I didn't notice when my wife came in and stood next to me until I saw dust particles flying in the air. She was beating the dust out of the rugs in my window! When I asked her what the hell she was doing she said in all sincerity, and without a clue "I'm not disturbing you am I? I always use your window to clean the rugs."
Needless to say I had to strip all of the paint off the model, including the primer since it was completely covered in dust and looked like it was growing fur. Now I am back at square one. 🙁
Does anyone have any experience working with ak Realcolors? I'm having some difficulties with them.

Skyhiker Here is a video of a guy who was as surprised as I was that the formulas are different. And he bought the whole complete set for 500 bucks, just to find out it wasn't what he wanted. Youtube Video
