I cut out all the raised deck detailing. The idea is to reinstate them again after I installed the wooden deck

I had no problem separating the PE parts from the fret. Just a little nudge using a used blade will do. I use a file to clean the parts from any protuding bits.

Laying down the MK1 wooden deck. It is self adhesive but I added extra CA glue under it. The fit is 98% good, almost perfect.

The wooden decks have a thin layer of glue underneath it. The glue is protected by a plastic film that you have to peel away. It was tacky but i found that it didnt stay flat for long. You need to add extra glue under it.

Working on the PE parts small steps at a time. GMM provided two sets of the HOOD lettering. The extra is for spare backup. Also a PE template to help align the letters. I lost one of the D (Oops) and used the spare. A lifesaver!

The grills for the funnels. They were fiddly and extremely hard to work with. I wasted days figuring out how??? The grills came in one-piece. I finally cut mine into three pieces. This gave me more control and that really helped. Since then, progress was fast.

Hi @Paul - The GMM is great for a depicting her 1941 fit. The set has almost everything. The PE guardrails, ladders, stairs, doors, etc covers all the major parts. GMM provides every part with extra pairs. This is so convenient as I lost a few to the carpet monster. The instruction sheet is extensive and very informative. They must have put a lot of effort into it. Best using a gel type CA glue to fix these.
