This is my first resin kit, and so far it seems to be a very nice.
I painted the interior Testors Silver and then applied a MIG by AMMO wash to highlight the details. Although the picture seemed to have washed it out.
I cracked one of the seats, but used a bit of CA glue to fix it. The cockpit is small enough that it won't be seen. The photoetch set only includes the shoulder-harnesses so made some lap belts out of Tamiya Tape.
Masked the wings for the red panels. Got a little too enthusiastic gripping the wing to make sure the tape was straight, and I broke off two chunks of the trailing edge. Wasn't sure how to correct this, as the resin is very thin. Finally decided to superglue some resin flash in the broken areas, and sand to shape. Actually turned out not too bad.

Looking really good. You must be relieved to have been able to fix the wing damage so well!

Lost the resin mass-balance for the rudder, so I scratch-built a replacement.
One main wheel axels broke off the gear leg, and I lost the piece. Cobbled a replacement one out of styrene rod. Hope it holds up…

The outer wings are painted and weathered. Used AMMO by MIG wash for the ailerons, wingtip handhold, and slots.
The wings mounted to the fuselage nicely, just a bit of filler.
Had to ream out the landing gear mounting holes. Didn't want it too loose, but afraid to break the gear leg again…
Need to mask the wings and tail to finish painting the fuselage.

Broke the gear leg again… super glue is a wonderful invention!
Painted the fuselage. Dropped, found, lost again, found, and finally mounted the Venturi tubes on the side of the fuselage. Tiny little things!
Decals were a little brittle and one of the wing roundels cracked, thankfully there are extras.
Mounted the windscreens which are very thin, nicely molded clear resin.
Nice looking trainer, about the same size as a DHC-1 Chipmunk.

Thank you for the comments, encouragement, and 'likes'. Added a couple more pics, including one of all three Silver trainers of the RDAF.

Album info

Skandinavisk Aero Industri (SAI) developed their single-engine, two-seat sport aircraft the SAI KZ II with the first flight taking place near the end of 1937. About a dozen planes were built the following year. Upon invading Denmark, Germany seized all the planes which had been built. SAI did not resume aircraft construction again until the end of the war. The newly created Danish Air Force needed new pilots, but they lacked training aircraft. SAI developed the KZ II Trainer as a reinforced version of the KZ II Sport. The prototype flew for the first time in April 1946. At the end of 1946, fifteen KZ II Trainer were delivered for use at air base AVNØ. Here it was used for primary training of future Air Force pilots until 1955, when the 9 surviving airframes were sold to civilians.
