FV101 Scorpion
A nice little kit by AFV Club.
Tamiya NATO Green and Black
Painting all done.
Some dry brushing around raised areas with Tamiya Metallic Grey.
Some more dry brushing.
Scorpion Miniatures Synthetic Rope and Shackles set used. These Ropes are great and with a dark wash look the part.
Getting there
Tamiya Clear Blue added to the sights
I robbed a "Wash Bag" from the utility room to make camo netting.
A set of Scorpion Miniatures "Clansman Antenna" fitted. The foliage is home made.
And the fun begins
When completed I painted them flat black. When dry I added Tamiya flat earth in random area.
A light wash of AK Track Wash
A light scrub of a sanding sponge to shine where the tracks touch the ground.
Fitting the rubber pads. I says no glue required, but I found that a few of the pads fell out so I decided to put a dot of superglue under each pad. Some of the track pins also kept falling out so again I just put a dot of superglue on each and it sorted the problem. It also didn't stop the tracks from been workable.

David TaylorGot this one in the loft somewhere built lovely kit to build as is the scimitar.Wish I could afford the whole family from AA they seem to have the lot.

playtime 222Nice result. Actually tinkering with mine as I write. I found the plastic very soft when cleaning up the wheels but nice kit apart from that. Was thinking of a set of tracks to replace the crappy vinyl but looking at the drama you went through... I'd never finish.

David WallaceThank you Lads. Yes it was a lovely kit to build. The tracks were a little tricky but worth it. I have the AFV Scimitar to do. I got the Eduard PE set for it as well as the Scorpion Miniatures Ropes, Antenna & Stowage box.
I currently on Academy's Warrior.
