Interesting model. I can easily see myself modeling something in 3D, and 3D printing it. 🙂 (expert 3d modeler).
Probably would be medium sized making figures (not the tiny ones), as I imagine that would be more popular, and also fun to make. Maybe eh 1:12 scale or something like that.

Great stuff. I am also curious if you got rid of the visible layers by sanding or does a primer coat(s) the job?

It's a SLA printer ... no visible layers ... pretty simple.
Cleanup: Yes: the suppost structures are similar to the sprue connections. I added an picture to show the printed leg.

This is the first model kit, that I printed on my new SLA printer from Thingiverse.
It can be downloaded here: thingiverse.com/thing:2641225
It is probably in 1:72 scale, at least the hatches and the gun would fit.
