Somehow Dragon seem to get the right side view port correctly shaped, but not Academy. :|

Thanks for watching guys. This is a very enjoyable little kit. I have not built 1/72 armor in over 35 years... things have changed.

I can highly recommend the Tamiya 'hard coated file pro' file (Tamiya 74106). It flattens larger surfaces (as long as the file doesn't ever get bent), but also edges of smaller plastic parts. It also works fairly well in corners of 90 deg angled shapes. Sanding sticks are nice, but a good fine metal file is really nice to have for model kits.

Thank you for that recommendation. I do have a few sets of needle files that I use already. I'll keep my eye open for the Tamiya file that you suggest. There are a couple shops here that carry most of the Tamiya tools and products.

The lighting seems harsh imo. I would recommend try lighting it with natural sunlight, but maybe not in the window. If you take it outside you get the full ambient light (from blue sky/clouds).

splendid work. What do you think about he tracks? Have a few useless kits because the tracks stiffened up and break as you watch them (no kidding), and replacement tracks in this scale...

@ Treehugger- thanks for the tip on lighting. When I get a base completed for this, I'll give that a shot.

@ Bart- thank you for the compliment. I am not a big fan of the DS tracks. I have had lots of breakage problems with 1/35 gluable one piece tracks from Tamiya, AFV Club, and Dragon in the past. I know exactly what you mean. I have a feeling that these will not last long either...

Nice one indeed, well done!

Thank you Finn. 1/72 builds are well outside my wheelhouse since the early 80's, so this was something of a change of pace for me. 1/72 armor kits sure aren't what they used to be.
